Abstract

The low achievement of scientific literacy and the limited space for creative thinking in elementary science learning are pressing issues amid the national policy shift toward deep learning and stronger integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the curriculum. This study aims to develop a deep learning-based instructional model grounded in the AI-STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach to improve elementary students' scientific literacy and creativity. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The trial subjects were fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Meulaboh. Data were collected through needs questionnaires, expert validation sheets, learning implementation observation, scientific literacy tests, and creativity assessment instruments. The resulting model consists of a five-stage syntax (Wondering, Investigating, Designing, Creating, Reflecting/WICER) integrating an educational AI chatbot, interactive simulations, and contextual STEAM projects. Expert validation results indicate the model is in the highly feasible category, and the limited trial shows improvement in students' scientific literacy and creativity. This model is expected to serve as an adaptive alternative for elementary science instructional design that responds to the national deep learning policy while remaining attentive to AI developments
