Author Guideline

General Information

Jurnal Ilmiah Mahasiswa Multidisiplin (JIMM) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and scientific studies from various multidisciplinary fields including education, health sciences, social sciences, humanities, technology, engineering, economics, sports science, and applied sciences. The journal welcomes contributions from students, academics, researchers, and practitioners.

All manuscripts submitted to JIMM must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be written in clear academic language and follow the journal template and formatting guidelines.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors are required to prepare manuscripts using the following format:

  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: Left 3 cm, Right 2.5 cm, Top 2.5 cm, Bottom 2.5 cm
  • Font: Book Antiqua
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Text alignment: Justified
  • Manuscript length: 4,000–5,000 words including references, tables, and figures.

The manuscript file must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

Manuscript Structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the content of the research article. The title must not exceed 15 words and should avoid uncommon abbreviations. Titles must be written in both Indonesian and English.

Author Information

Authors must provide complete information including:

  • Full name without academic title
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Department or study program
  • Email address
  • Corresponding author identification

  • Abstract

    The abstract must be written in both Indonesian and English in a single paragraph format. The abstract should contain:

    • Research background
    • Research objective
    • Research method
    • Participants/sample
    • Data analysis technique
    • Main findings
    • Conclusion

    The abstract length must be between 150–250 words.

    Authors must also provide 3–5 keywords representing the main topics of the manuscript.

  • Introduction

    The introduction should clearly explain:

    • Research background
    • Research problem
    • Research urgency
    • Relevant theories
    • Previous studies
    • Research gap
    • Research objectives
    • Research novelty

    The introduction should be written systematically in narrative paragraphs and supported by recent scientific references. The recommended length is 800–1,500 words.

  • Research Method

    The method section must explain the research procedures in detail, including:

    • Research design and approach
    • Research location and time
    • Population and sample/participants
    • Sampling technique
    • Data collection techniques
    • Research instruments
    • Data validity and reliability
    • Data analysis techniques

    Authors should clearly explain statistical analysis methods or qualitative analysis procedures used in the study. The recommended length is 500–1,200 words.

  • Results

    The results section should present research findings objectively and systematically. Results may be presented using tables, figures, charts, or graphs. All tables and figures must be numbered and provided with clear titles.

    Authors should explain the meaning of the findings rather than only displaying data. The recommended length is 500–1,000 words.

    Discussion

    The discussion section should interpret the research findings critically and connect them with relevant theories and previous studies. Authors must explain:

    • Interpretation of findings
    • Comparison with previous studies
    • Research contribution
    • Practical and theoretical implications
    • Research novelty

    A strong discussion section should demonstrate analytical depth and academic contribution. The recommended length is 600–1000 words.

    Conclusion

    The conclusion should answer the research objectives and summarize the main findings of the study. Conclusions must be written in paragraph form, not bullet points. Suggestions or recommendations may be included at the end of the conclusion section.

    The recommended length is 150–300 words.

  • Citation and References

    JIMM uses APA Style (latest edition) for citations and references. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

    • Mendeley
    • Zotero
    • EndNote

    References should meet the following criteria:

    • Minimum 20 references
    • At least 80% from scientific journal articles
    • Most references should be published within the last five years
    • International reputable references are highly recommended
