Plagiarism
Jurnal Pengabdian Pemersatu Bangsa (JPPB) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism at any stage of the submission, review, or publication process will be subject to the actions outlined below.
Plagiarism is defined as the use, reproduction, or close imitation of another author's language, ideas, data, figures, tables, or intellectual work without proper acknowledgment and presenting them as original work. All manuscripts submitted to JPPB must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other publication.
Any material taken directly from another source must be clearly distinguished from the author's original text through one or more of the following methods:
- Proper use of quotation marks;
- Appropriate indentation for extended quotations;
- Accurate and complete citation of the original source.
Any substantial text, figures, tables, images, or other copyrighted materials reproduced from another source require written permission from the copyright holder and appropriate acknowledgment of the original source.
To ensure academic integrity, all submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin Similarity Check prior to the peer-review process. The Editorial Team will evaluate the similarity report and determine the appropriate action according to the following criteria:
Similarity Index Above 40%
Manuscript Rejected
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 40% will be rejected immediately due to significant plagiarism, inadequate citation practices, or excessive copying. No resubmission of the same manuscript will be accepted.
Similarity Index Between 20% and 40%
Major Revision Required
The manuscript will be returned to the author(s) for substantial revision. Authors must:
- Provide proper citations for all matched content;
- Rewrite and paraphrase overlapping text appropriately;
- Eliminate unnecessary similarities while maintaining academic accuracy.
The revised manuscript must be resubmitted together with an updated Turnitin report demonstrating significant improvement.
Similarity Index Below 20%
Eligible for Review
Manuscripts with a similarity index below 20% may proceed to the review process. However, the Editorial Team may still require authors to improve citations, references, or paraphrasing where necessary to ensure compliance with ethical publication standards.
Author Responsibilities
In cases requiring revision, authors are responsible for:
- Carefully reviewing all similarity matches;
- Providing complete and accurate citations;
- Paraphrasing sourced materials appropriately;
- Submitting a revised manuscript accompanied by a Turnitin Similarity Report showing a similarity index of less than 20%.
JPPB is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or improper attribution, is considered unethical and unacceptable.
